Full Job Description

Founded in 1922, The Urbana Country Club continues to operate as a private country club located 5 miles east of Urbana and 20 miles west of Plain City. Our active membership enjoys a finely maintained golf links, swimming pool and clubhouse which is the hub for our food and beverage team. We provide the finest food and service possible for our members and their guests. From our food and beverage operation to administrative staff, we maintain the highest level of quality and standards. We are happy to have you join our team to help us continue to meet these objectives.

Job Summary

In this role, you will be an essential part of the back-of-house team responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting menu items to the highest standards. You will follow recipes, ensure proper food handling and storage, and maintain a clean and organized work area. You will assist with banquets, daily service, and special events customary in a country club setting.

Kitchen Team Members Will:

Prepare, cook, and plate dishes according to Chef’s specifications.
Assist in food prep such as chopping, portioning, and organizing ingredients.
Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work environment, following all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Set up and break down kitchen stations before and after shifts.
Support banquet and event service by preparing large-batch recipes, buffet items, or plated meals.
Monitor stock levels and communicate supply needs to the Chef.
Work collaboratively with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service.
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and stand 8–12 hours.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age or older.
Prior kitchen, line cook, or prep cook experience preferred, but not required — training provided.
Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food safety standards.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Strong attention to detail, consistent positive attitude, and willingness to learn.

Job Overview

Lunch Shift: 9:00am to 3:00pm (prep and service).
Dinner Shift: 3:00pm to 9:30pm (grill off at 8pm).
Swing hours and special event shifts available.
