Founded in 1922, The Urbana Country Club continues to operate as a private country club located 5 miles east of Urbana and 20 miles west of Plain City. Our active membership enjoys a finely maintained golf links, swimming pool and clubhouse which is the hub for our food and beverage team. Job Summary
In this role, you will be knowledgeable about the menu, bar offerings, and other details of the restaurant and will be able to make recommendations and answer questions with confidence. You will be familiar with the proper presentation and serving techniques for each dish and be able to anticipate and address any special requests or needs. You will be responsible for maintaining the appearance and cleanliness of the dining room and bar area, including setting tables, cleaning up spills, and replacing silverware and other supplies as needed. You will service banquets and special events that are customary in a country club setting.
Servers Will
- Provide extraordinary service to our members
- Prepare the tables, laying out napkins, utensils and glassware, making sure the condiments are refilled, performing all other preparation tasks.
- Stay updated on current menu choices and food preparation details.
- Welcome and attend to guests promptly.
- Present menus, suggesting dishes, assisting in drink selection, informing customers about food preparation details.
- Communicate specific customer needs to the Chefs.
- Maintain proper dining experience, delivering items, fulfilling customer needs, offering desserts and drinks, removing courses, replenishing utensils, refilling glasses.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and stand 8-12 hours
- Properly open and pour wine at the tableside.
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Process payments accurately using modern point of sale.
Qualifications
- Experience in fine dining or fast casual dining
- Knowledge of wine and wine service skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment
- Consistent positive attitude, spirit of teamwork, and ability to provide outstanding customer service to members and to fellow team members is required.
- Must be available nights, weekends, and holidays.
Job Overview
- Lunch Shift 10:30am to 4:30pm (service starts at 11am)
- Dinner Shift 4:30pm to 9:30pm (grill off at 8pm)
