WE NEED A HUNTER.

Not the camo-and-deer-stand kind.

The kind who sees a street full of businesses and thinks:

“There’s a customer in there somewhere.”

Westmark Facility Services needs an experienced salesperson in Tulsa.

And we're going to tell you exactly what we want.

We need someone who will get in our company vehicle Monday morning, drive into a business district, park the car and start walking.

Door one.

“Thanks, but we're happy with our cleaning company.”

Fine.

Door two.

“No thanks.”

Fine.

Door three.

“The person who handles that isn't here.”

Get their name.

Door four.

“No.”

Door five.

“No.”

Door six.

“Leave something and we'll give it to them.”

Do it.

Keep walking.

Because somewhere down that street is a business that's sick and tired of its cleaning company.

Your job is to find it.

HERE'S THE BEST PART:

YOU DON'T HAVE TO SELL THEM.

Seriously.

You don't have to measure the building.

You don't have to figure out how many hours it takes to clean.

You don't have to prepare the proposal.

You don't have to negotiate the contract.

You don't have to close the deal.

Nate and Tom will do that.

We need you to do what great prospectors do:

Get us in the room.

Find the right company.

Find the right person.

Start the conversation.

Get them interested enough to say:

“Sure. I'll meet with you.”

Put it on the calendar.

Then go find another one.

WHO THE HELL IS WESTMARK?

Fair question.

Westmark Facility Services is a Tulsa commercial janitorial company.

We clean manufacturing plants. Oil & gas companies. Medical facilities. Banks. City of Tulsa facilities. Corporate offices. Churches. Law firms. Bottling plants. And other commercial facilities.

We don't clean houses.

We don't clean restaurants.

We don't clean retail stores.

Businesses hire us to clean businesses.

And right now, we want more of them.

WE DON'T CARE WHAT YOU USED TO SELL.

Copiers?

Fine.

Insurance?

Fine.

Uniforms? Industrial supplies? Payroll services? Something we've never heard of?

Fine.

B2B experience is preferred.

But we're much more interested in whether you can walk into a building cold and make somebody glad you did.

That's a talent.

And we'll pay for it.

THERE IS ONE THING YOU ABSOLUTELY MUST BE ABLE TO SELL:Yourself.

You need to be able to walk through a door where nobody invited you in.

Smile.

Introduce yourself.

Talk to the receptionist like an actual human being.

Figure out who makes the decision.

And leave them thinking:

“I like that person.”

Then follow up.

You also need to be able to pick up a telephone and call somebody who isn't expecting your call.

Some people hate doing that.

This isn't their job.

YOU'LL HEAR “NO.”

A lot.

We aren't going to pretend otherwise.

The question is what happens next.

If “no” ruins your afternoon, don't apply.

If “no” means:

“Okay. Who's next?”

Now we're getting somewhere.

ONE LAST THING.

We're not looking for somebody who can prospect.

Lots of salespeople can prospect.

We're looking for somebody who actually WILL.

Day after day.

Phone call after phone call.

Door after door.

We're looking for a worker.

Someone hungry.

Someone who likes people.

Someone who works well with the rest of us.

Someone who can get knocked down at 10:00 and be laughing with the receptionist at the next company at 10:05.

Someone who understands that 20 “no's” don't matter.

Because we're looking for the one:

“YEAH, ACTUALLY...WE HAVE BEEN THINKING ABOUT CHANGING CLEANING COMPANIES.”

That's your moment.

Get us the appointment.

Then get back in the car and go find us another one.
