Our Virtual Event Hosts are the welcoming face of every event. While instructors lead the workshop, hosts serve as the emcee by welcoming guests, guiding the event flow, presenting slides, encouraging participation, and supporting the instructor to ensure a seamless and engaging experience from start to finish.
Job Overview
Do you love being in front of people and making others feel welcome?
We're looking for an energetic, organized, and engaging Virtual Event Host to lead the flow of our live Zoom experiences. Think of yourself as the emcee of the event. You'll welcome guests, introduce the instructor, guide the agenda, encourage participation, and keep the experience running seamlessly from beginning to end.
This is a part-time contractor position perfect for someone with experience in hosting, public speaking, theater, hospitality, customer service, or corporate events.
What You'll Do
- Welcome guests and create a fun, professional atmosphere.
- Act as the emcee throughout the event.
- Introduce the instructor and guide guests through the event flow.
- Present slides and announcements during the experience.
- Keep conversations engaging through icebreakers, polls, trivia, and chat.
- Support the instructor by monitoring questions and participant needs.
- Help troubleshoot basic Zoom issues such as audio, video, and connectivity.
- Familiarize yourself with each event's run of show before going live.
- Arrive early to test Zoom, slides, music, and materials.
- Capture screenshots and group photos during the event.
- Ensure the event stays on schedule.
- Represent the Kits by Food Craft brand with professionalism and warmth.
We're Looking For Someone Who
- Loves talking with people and making others feel comfortable.
- Has excellent communication and public speaking skills.
- Can confidently host groups of 10 to 500+ participants.
- Is comfortable presenting on Zoom and sharing slides.
- Can think quickly and stay calm under pressure.
- Is highly organized and dependable.
- Enjoys working with instructors as part of a team.
- Has experience in events, hospitality, theater, education, customer service, or entertainment.
Requirements
- Reliable high-speed internet connection.
- Laptop or desktop computer with a webcam and microphone.
- Quiet, professional workspace.
- Strong verbal communication and customer service skills.
- Comfortable speaking on camera and engaging groups.
- Ability to learn and follow event run-of-show documents.
- Available to work evenings and occasional weekends based on client events.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience hosting virtual meetings, workshops, or live events.
- Experience as an emcee, facilitator, moderator, or corporate event host.
- Familiarity with Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Google Meet.
- Experience presenting slides and managing audience engagement.
- Background in hospitality, theater, education, training, or customer-facing roles.
- Comfortable learning multiple workshop formats and event flows.
What to Expect
- This is a Virtual Event Host role, not a workshop instructor position. As the host, you'll serve as the emcee by welcoming guests, guiding the event flow, presenting slides, engaging participants, and supporting the instructor throughout the session.
- Growth opportunities are available. Outstanding hosts may have the opportunity to train as Workshop Instructors, which comes with a higher event pay rate.
- This is a flexible, contractor position. Event invitations are sent as shifts become available, and you're free to accept or decline based on your availability.
- Weekly events are not guaranteed. The number of opportunities varies depending on client bookings and seasonality.
- Our busiest season is November and December, when event volume is typically at its highest.
Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
