Full Job Description

Senior AI Risk Management Consultant

Location: San Antonio, TX or Charlotte, NC (Onsite/Hybrid) or Remote

Vaco is partnering with a leading financial services organization seeking a Senior AI Risk Management Consultant to support enterprise-wide AI governance, technology risk, compliance, and emerging technology initiatives.

This role is ideal for a seasoned Technology Risk, IT Audit, or GRC professional with hands-on experience assessing AI and Generative AI risks in highly regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead AI risk assessments and governance activities
Review AI solutions, controls, and risk mitigation strategies
Evaluate AI-related control effectiveness and compliance requirements
Support audit, regulatory, and governance reporting efforts
Contribute to AI policies, standards, and framework development
Assess risks tied to AI agents, large language models, cloud AI platforms, and third-party AI solutions

What We're Looking For:

15+ years in Technology Risk, IT Audit, Cybersecurity, Compliance, GRC, or AI Risk Management
Strong Second Line of Defense experience
Expertise with AI governance frameworks such as NIST AI RMF, ISO 42001, and ISO 27001
Experience with platforms including Microsoft Copilot, OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, Amazon Q, or similar technologies
Certifications such as CRISC, CISSP, CISM, CIPP, FAIR, or related credentials preferred
