YCC Family Crisis Center is in its 81st year of serving Ogden and Northern Utah. The Victim Assistance Center provides support to individuals and families escaping abusive situations. This is an opportunity to join an outstanding team of dedicated professionals making a difference in the lives of our community. Join us as we support individuals and families impacted by domestic and sexual violence through safety, advocacy, and resources on their journey to safe and healthy lives.

GENERAL PURPOSE

Under the direct supervision of the Shelter Manager and the general guidance of the VAC Director, assess client needs and initiate agency services under the parameters of the FVPSA Grant and DHS Contract.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Meet with shelter clients within 48 hours of entering shelter to complete a safety plan, provide resources, assess needs and develop an action plan. Meet weekly with shelter clients to review progress.
Educate and assist clients in the dynamics of abusive relationships.
Make appropriate referrals to other community agencies as needed.
Collaborate with Domestic Violence Victim Advocate Program (DVVAP) to make victims aware of legal options available to them, including assistance of protective orders and CVR applications.
Provide short-term crisis intervention, personal advocacy, information and referrals to walk-in victims.
Maintain accurate records on all clients and enter into client database.
Assist with the intake process of victims entering the shelter as needed. Assist with intake office responsibilities and cover in emergency situations.
Track services rendered according to VOCA and DHS standards and submit monthly report to the Shelter Manager by the 5th working day of each month.
Give educational domestic violence presentations to the general public.
Participate in rotating evening/weekend on-call duties.
Meet weekly with shelter staff in client staffing meetings to discuss client needs.
Attend All Staff and VAC meetings.
Attend trainings as requested by the VAC Manager.
Adhere to all policies and procedures stated in the Employee Handbook and any applicable Policy and Procedure Manual.

MARGINAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform other functions as necessary or as assigned.

NATURE OF WORK CONTACTS

Interact and communicate in a professional and effective manner with all levels of employees, management, executives, vendors, clients and external partners. Incorporate a Trauma Informed Care model during all interactions with survivors. Case Manager must have the ability to meet the needs of a diverse population and continually work toward cultural competency.

TRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Social Sciences, or Industry related field.
Social Service Worker License is preferred.
Preferred experience working with individuals & families in crisis.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Computer literacy including MS Office products: Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point.
Exceptional time-management, planning, and administrative skills.
Demonstrate high level of diplomacy, sound judgment, and discretion when dealing with clients and other department staff.
High degree of energy, self-motivation, and flexibility with schedule.
Strong work ethic with a professional, positive attitude.
Demonstrated commitment to achieving the organization's goals and objectives.
Ability to perform multiple tasks effectively with a focus on timeliness and responsiveness.

Must be able to occasionally move objects of 50 lbs.
