Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach

Job Summary/Basic Function:

Lead, Direct, and Implement a comprehensive training program for assigned sports. Collaborate with sports coaches to meet the needs and vision of assigned teams. As needed, assist with the training of 16 NCAA Division 1 teams. Assist in the day to day and long-term operation of the strength and conditioning facilities in the stadium and fieldhouse. Collaborate with Strength and Conditioning Coaches to ensure best practices are being met and implemented. Communicate with Athletic Training and other departments.

Required Qualifications:

Required:

Bachelor’s Degree
2 years in Collegiate Strength and Conditioning
CSCS or SCCC Certification
CPR/AED and First Aid Certified
Experience with effective strength and conditioning programming

Preferred Qualifications:

Approved:

Masters Degree
Experience working with Male and Female Athletes and Teams. Experience working with Basketball Athletes and Teams
Experience working with Soccer Athletes and Teams. Experience working with Tennis Athletes and Teams
Ability to communicate effectively with both large and small groups. Strong interpersonal communication abilities with fellow strength and conditioning coaches and sports coaches

Visual Acuity Requirements including color, depth perception and field of vision: Required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned (i.e., custodial, food services,) or to make general observations of facilities or structures (i.e., security guard, inspection).

The conditions the worker will be subject to in this position: The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside. , The worker is subject to extreme cold. Temperatures typically below 32 for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions such as wind and humidity., The worker is subject to extreme heat. Temperatures above 100 for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind and humidity. , The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level., The worker is subject to vibration. Exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body.
