Position Summary:
The Assistant Director of Admission Programs and Out of State Recruitment coordinates and executes undergraduate recruitment and yield events, supervises the student ambassador program, and carries responsibility for assigned out-of-state recruitment and admission activity. The Assistant Director provides admissions counseling and supports a student-centered enrollment experience from inquiry through matriculation.
Responsibilities:
Recruitment and Yield Events
- Coordinate and execute campus visit programs, open houses, counselor programs and counselor nights, accepted student programs, and other undergraduate recruitment and yield events.
- Coordinate event schedules, logistics, staffing, and participation by campus offices.
- Adapt visit and event programs for effectiveness based on data, participant feedback, and enrollment outcomes.
- Represent the institution at recruitment programs and events.
Student Ambassador Program
- Supervise the student ambassador program.
- Recruit, train, schedule, and support student ambassadors for tours, visit programs, and recruitment events.
- Establish performance expectations and accountability measures for student ambassadors.
- Support student ambassador development and effective student service.
Out-of-State Recruitment and Admission
- Manage assigned out-of-state recruitment territories and travel activity.
- Develop relationships with high schools, counselors, students, families, and community organizations in assigned territories.
- Conduct recruitment travel and represent the institution at school visits, college fairs, counselor programs, and other recruitment activities.
- Provide admissions counseling and follow-up to prospective students and families in assigned territories.
- Review assigned undergraduate applications in accordance with University admission policies and procedures.
- Carry out inquiry, application, and yield activity for assigned out-of-state students.
Collaboration
- Work with the Director, four regional Assistant Directors, Assistant Director of Transfer Admission, Associate Director of Graduate and Online Admission, and other admission colleagues.
- Partner with the Assistant Vice President of Enrollment Strategy and Operations, Senior Associate Director of Enrollment Technology, Associate Director of Enrollment Marketing and Communications, Financial Aid, and other campus offices in support of recruitment events and assigned students
- May be assigned to assist with recruitment in other territories and/or to assist in review of applications from other territories.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Professional experience in admission, recruitment, enrollment management, student services, event coordination, or a related field.
- Experience working with students and families.
- Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends as required by recruitment activity and events.
Skills/Abilities:
- Experience with undergraduate recruitment, territory management, or application review.
- Experience coordinating recruitment or campus visit programs.
- Experience supervising student ambassadors or student employees.
- Experience with Slate or a comparable CRM platform.
Driving Responsibility:
- This position requires a valid drivers license and the ability to drive a university or rented vehicle for recruitment travel.
Travel:
- Travel for out of state recruitment is required a few times per semester. The employee may be assigned to assist with travel to recruitment events in support of other undergraduate territories within New York state.
Salary for position will be $62,400
