Full Job Description

Seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Auditor/Staff Accountant to join a growing CPA firm. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for providing accounting, tax, and financial reporting services to a diverse client base, including individuals, small businesses, and nonprofit organizations. This position offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth and hands-on experience in public accounting.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare individual, corporate, partnership, and fiduciary tax returns.
Assist with tax planning and compliance engagements.
Perform bookkeeping and accounting services for clients, including account reconcillations and adjusting journal entries.
Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
Assist with compilation, review, and audit engagements.
Analyze financial records and identify discrepancies or areas for improvement.
Communicate with clients to gather information and respond to accounting and tax-related inquiries.
Research accounting and tax issues and assist in implementing appropriate solutions.
Maintain organized and accurate client files and workpapers.
Support partners and managers with special projects and client engagements as needed.

Qualifications

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong verbal and written communications abilities.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.

Preferred

CPA license or active pursuit of CPA certification.
Experience with accounting and tax software such as QuickBooks, Sage, CCH Axcess
Experience working with small business clients.
