Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the vehicle maintenance and upkeep of our fleet. The ideal candidate will be responsible for minor to moderate repairs to ambulances and other support vehicles and will be tasked with installation of equipment in newly purchased vehicles. This role requires a hands-on approach, strong leadership skills, and intermediate to advanced knowledge of vehicle repair and maintenance and electronics installation and wiring. It is strongly preferred that you have experience with both gasoline and diesel engines. Please note, you will be driving large vehicles including ambulances as a component of job duties and must be insurable by the company's vehicle insurance provider.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Review the failure sheets from the crews of the units and report them to the logistics manager for further instruction.
· Daily Review any failures from the stations as from the Logistics Manager for further instruction.
· Daily Repair of any failures on the ambulances\vehicles within capabilities.
· Obtaining quotes and order parts for a variety of makes and models of vehicles
· Daily fleet maintenance tracking through company designated fleet management program.
-Mechanical / Electrical Repair types include but are not limited to –
· Coolant Line repairs / replacement
· HVAC repairs / total system replacement
· Charging system repair / replacement
· Bumper and Trim / minor body repair / replacement
· Initial install and maintenance of onboard safety systems on company owned vehicles.
Other Duties
· Daily / Bi-Weekly. Data entry into the service programs for repairs on units daily.
· Assist with supply issuing (SST) at the designation of the Logistics Manager.
· Assist in offloading supplies.
· Data entry fuelusage from both credit cards and billing slips.
· Complete monthly reports for service on units and expenses per unit.
· Attend management meetings and reporting on department operations.
· Maintaining fleet fluid and supply inventory levels and reorder points.
Any other tasks as assigned.
Experience and Qualifications
- Language - Intermediate skills: ability to read, write, and converse effectively in English on a low technical level
- Mathematical - Intermediate skills: ability to perform addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication
- Reasoning ability - Advanced skills: ability to distinguish electrical, mechanical, and combined problems to determine cause of issues and repair
- Vehicle maintenance - Intermediate skills: ability to perform minor and intermediate vehicle diagnosing, repairs, and preventative maintenance including but not limited to oil changes, recharging A/C units, interpreting and diagnosing problems using a code reader, etc.
- Equipment installation - Intermediate skills: ability to follow diagrams and/or audio/visual instructions to wire equipment into vehicles.
- Experience working with both gasoline and diesel engines strongly preferred.
- Basic ASE certifications
