Full Job Description

The Methodist Home has been restoring childhoods, strengthening families and building people for over 150 years. We are looking for people who would like to help us achieve our mission to provide healing and hope to children and families.

Purpose: The Administrative Assistant provides overall management and coordination of the Valdosta Regional Office by maintaining a smooth and professional work environment and providing necessary support services for all departments within Valdosta such as RBWO, Lighthouse for Families, HOPE Foster Care, Development and any and all current and/or future departments providing services through Valdosta.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Maintains a systematic approach to the coordination of the administrative workload including the receiving and routing of all mail.
Maintains the integrity of financial procedures according to policy and procedures including processes for requesting petty cash, credit cards, gas cards etc.
Maintains all records and reimbursements for checking account and petty cash account.
Responsible for insuring receipts are turned in and forwarded to the appropriate person/department.
Maintains resident’s records for monthly expenditures including allowances, short-term and long-term accounts.
Responsible for planning, coordinating, and teaching American Red Cross CPR/First Aid as applicable.
Provides clerical support to the Valdosta Regional Office as needed.
Responsible for performing all human resources processes and functions according to Agency policy and procedures.
Point of contact for all human resources matters including but not limited to applicant processing, new employee paperwork, benefits including insurance, file maintenance and employee separations.
Responsible for entering and exiting all new employees and terminating employees in the following systems as applicable: SAGE, Employee Navigator, Extended Reach, Care Suite, IT Request, Payroll Change Notice, GA Score and other systems/programs appropriate to Valdosta.
Ensures proper communication of all Workers Compensation claims and FMLA claims.

Qualifications and Skills include but are not limited to the following:

Minimum of a High School Diploma required.
Minimum three years experience working as an administrative assistant.
Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records and other office procedures and terminology.
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment and meeting quality of standards for services.
Must have the ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
Must have the ability to choose the right mathematical methods or formula to solve a problem.

Required Safety/Background Checks: All applicants must consent, and receive clearance from the following local, state and national agencies: Bibb County Sheriff's Department, Department of Human Services (fingerprint required), Motor Vehicle Record (must have a valid license for four consecutive years and applicant/driving record must be approved by our insurance carrier), Child Abuse Registry, Department of Corrections, Pardons and Parole, Sex Offenders Registry, and Medicaid Fraud

All employees must submit to and pass a pre-employment physical, ten panel drug screen and TB skin test.

Pay: $15.00 per hour
