Orthopedic experience is preferred.
- 2 years of related experience &/or medical office - Orthopedics.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- Previous work as transcriptionist, scribe, or in a related field is preferred.
- Strong proficiency in writing, English composition, grammar, and spelling is required.
- A solid understanding of medical terminology is necessary.
The Medical Historian's primary responsibility is to gather and record accurate and detailed medical histories from patients (including all Work Comp) both in person and over the phone, and input date into the Care Connect and SRS.
For example: document the chief complaint, history of the present illness, review of systems, past medical history, social history, family medical history, risk factors, medications and allergies.
Must ensure completeness of medical history, probing for any missing information while interacting with the patient. Other duties as assigned
