Chief Information Technology Officer (CITO)

Job Summary:

As the Chief Information Technology Officer (CITO), you will be responsible for overseeing the IT Department – budget & operations - for more than 50 Skilled Nursing Facilities. You will be leading a team of IT professionals, managing IT services, and ensuring that the organization’s data remains both accessible and secure. You will be collaborating with senior leadership to develop and implement a technology strategy that will drive innovation. Your role will focus on ensuring that the IT infrastructure across all facilities supports the highest standards of patient care, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and cybersecurity.

Key Responsibilities:

- Technology Strategy and Leadership:

Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with the

organization’s goals to improve patient care, streamline IT operations, drive innovation across all facilities, and minimize vendor dependency

Lead and mentor a diverse and growing IT team, fostering a collaborative environment

that encourages continuous learning and professional growth.

- Infrastructure Management:

Oversee the management and maintenance of the IT infrastructure across

50+ skilled nursing facilities, ensuring high availability, scalability, and reliability.

Implement standardized technology solutions that integrate across all

facilities, providing seamless communication, data sharing, and system interoperability.

· Position Microsoft 365 as the organization’s secure digital backbone for identity, collaboration, compliance, automation, and data governance.

- Healthcare Technology Integration:

Lead the integration of Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and other

SNF healthcare-specific technologies, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and

other relevant regulations.

- Cybersecurity and Compliance:

Develop and enforce robust cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive

patient data and organizational assets from threats.

Ensure all IT systems and practices comply with federal, state, and industry

regulations, including HIPAA, HITECH, and CMS requirements.

- Department Budget, Vendor & IT Services Management:

Forecasting and implementing the IT department’s budget, overseeing invoice review and IT expense management.
Manage relationships with external vendors, participating in contract negotiations and ensuring the delivery of high-quality technology services.

- Project Management:

Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of IT projects, ensuring they

are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.

Implement project management best practices to streamline the rollout of

new technologies across multiple facilities.

- Innovation and Continuous Improvement:

Collaborate with senior leadership and facility administrators to align

technology initiatives with business objectives and patient care standards.

Identify emerging technology trends and assess their potential impact on the

organization, positioning the company as a leader in healthcare technology.

Promote a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging the adoption of

innovative solutions that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve

patient outcomes.

Qualifications:

7+ years of experience in IT leadership roles in an Enterprise setting, with a focus on healthcare or skilled nursing facilities.

Proven track record of successfully managing and implementing large-scale IT

projects across multiple locations.

Deep understanding of healthcare IT systems, including EHR, telehealth, and HIPAA

compliance.

Strong knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and regulatory requirements.
Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
