Full Job Description

Location: White Plains, NY
Schedule: Per Diem | Monday–Friday | Flexible availability between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM

Lighthouse Lab Services is partnering with a leading hospital system in the White Plains, NY area to recruit a New York State Licensed Cytotechnologist for a per diem opportunity. This role is ideal for an experienced Cytotechnologist seeking a flexible schedule while working in a high-quality hospital laboratory committed to exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

Screen and evaluate gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytology specimens in accordance with established laboratory standards.
Identify and accurately classify abnormal cellular findings.
Prepare cases for pathologist review and collaborate on complex or challenging specimens.
Perform quality assurance and quality control procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
Accurately document findings in the laboratory information system (LIS).
Maintain competency with current cytology techniques, instrumentation, and laboratory best practices.
Support daily laboratory operations while maintaining productivity and diagnostic accuracy.
Participate in continuing education and departmental quality initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

Current New York State Cytotechnologist License (Required)
Bachelor's degree in Cytotechnology or a related life science field.
Completion of an accredited Cytotechnology training program.
ASCP Cytotechnologist (CT) certification preferred.
Previous experience in a hospital or high-volume laboratory setting is strongly preferred.
Excellent microscopic evaluation and diagnostic skills.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication abilities.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with pathologists and laboratory staff.

Schedule

Per Diem
Monday–Friday
Candidates must have flexible availability between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM
Hours will vary based on departmental needs
