Status: Full-time, Union, In-Person

Reports To: Workforce Programs Manager and Director of Operations and Compliance

Annual Salary: $60,000 - $65,000, commensurate with education and experience

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9 am – 6 pm, Weekends and Evenings as needed

The Mosholu Montefiore Community Center (MMCC) is a vital community resource that changes the course of lives of Bronx and Manhattan residents to a degree not otherwise possible. Each year, we serve more than 40,000 preschoolers, school age children, teens, adults and senior citizens through our support, enrichment, education, and recreation programs, expanding their opportunities to live full, productive lives.

Position Summary:

The Workforce Job Developer is responsible for connecting participants enrolled in MMCC's Workforce Development and Educational Counseling Center initiatives to employment, internships, apprenticeships, post-secondary education, and advanced training opportunities.

The Workforce Job Developer develops and maintains employer partnerships, conducts proactive employer outreach, prepares participants for employment, and connects them to meaningful career opportunities that result in measurable placement outcomes.

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain relationships with employers, staffing agencies, apprenticeship programs, labor unions, and other workforce partners to support employment and career opportunities for program participants.
Conduct proactive employer outreach through phone calls, emails, networking events, site visits, and community engagement activities.
Maintain an active employer database and job bank that reflects current employment, internship, apprenticeship and training opportunities across multiple industries.
Represent MMCC at job fairs, networking events and community events to promote workforce program and career opportunities to participants.
Coordinate hiring events, employer information sessions, on-site interviews, and other recruitment activities.
Conduct career assessments to evaluate participants' skills, interests, strengths, barriers, work history, and career goals to provide individualized career coaching and employment counseling plans.
Facilitate workshops on job readiness, workplace professionalism, and career development.
Assist participants with resume development, cover letters, employment applications, networking, interview preparation, and job search strategies.
Match qualified participants with career opportunities that align with employer needs, participant interests, and career goals.
Achieve established placement goals for employment, internships, apprenticeships, post-secondary education, and advanced training opportunities.
Conduct follow-up with employers and participants to support employment retention and address barriers to long-term success.
Track employment, wages, education, credential attainment, and retention outcomes.
Collaborate with Program Directors, Case Managers, Educational Coordinators, Instructors, and other workforce staff to support participant success.
Participate in interdisciplinary case conferences, staff meetings, and workforce planning meetings to support participant success.
Maintain accurate participant files, employer contacts, placement documentation, and case notes.
Ensure documentation complies with agency policies and applicable city, state, and federal funding requirements.
Prepare weekly and monthly reports summarizing employer outreach, participant activity, placements, retention, and other required outcomes.
Enter timely and accurate data in agency databases and case management systems.
Must be available for occasional evenings and weekends to support program implementation.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.)
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in workforce development, job development, business development, recruiting, staffing, talent acquisition, or a related field; OR
Associate's degree with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience.
Demonstrated success developing employer partnerships, business relationships, and placing individuals into employment, internships, apprenticeships, post-secondary education, or advanced training opportunities.
Experience conducting employer outreach, business development, or account management with a proven ability to establish and maintain professional relationships.
Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals facing barriers to employment, education, or career advancement, preferred.
Knowledge of workforce development resources, labor market trends, and community-based organizations.
Experience using case management systems, databases, and customer relationship management (CRM) software preferred.

Skills:

Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with employers, educational institutions, and community partners.
Strong networking, presentation, and public speaking skills.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.

Ability to work effectively in a flexible, fast-paced environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.
Ability to maintain accurate electronic records and reports.
