Human Resources and Payroll Specialist
Full-Time, 12-Month, Benefited
Position Number: 00104896
(Internal/External)

Position Description:
Valley City State University welcomes applications for the Human Resources and Payroll Coordinator position. This position will provide support and excellent customer service in relations to the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources and Payroll departments. This position will complete semi-monthly payroll tasks, employee recruitment and on-boarding, employee records maintenance, retention, tax filing and payments, and perform additional responsibilities as needed to support departmental and institutional objectives.

Minimum Qualifications:
An associate’s degree and two years of Human Resources, Payroll or related office experience are required. (May substitute directly related work experience or education for minimum qualification requirements.)

Preferred Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or related field; experience with website maintenance; and experience with the following programs Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Adobe Pro, PeopleSoft HCM or other Human Resources and Payroll management systems are preferred. The ideal candidate will have excellent skills in organization and prioritizing, verbal and written communication, problem solving, and attention to detail.

Compensation:
$48,000 - $51,000 annually depending on experience and qualifications.
