Full Job Description

Overview
The Senior Program Officer, Family and Community provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for programs and services that engage families and adults, build community connections, and advance the mission of our Jewish Community Center (JCC). This role oversees a diverse portfolio including family and adult programming, community events, Jewish education, facility rentals, and celebration-based offerings, and birthday parties.

This position balances strategic planning, staff supervision, and hands-on operational execution to ensure high-quality, inclusive, and financially sustainable programs and services.

In this role, you will develop, oversee, and evaluate programs designed to support families, promote social well-being, and address community needs. Your leadership will drive innovative strategies, build strong partnerships, and ensure the delivery of effective services that create lasting positive change. Responsibilities

Program Strategy & Leadership

Provide leadership for family, adult, and intergenerational programming across the lifecycle.

Program & Operations Management

Oversee planning and execution of community-wide events, adult programs, and seasonal or holiday programming.
Supervise Jewish education programming for children, families, and adults, ensuring quality instruction and effective delivery.
Oversee facility rentals, including private events and partner use of JCC spaces, ensuring excellent customer service, scheduling coordination, and compliance with JCC policies.
Supervise birthday parties and other fee-for-service celebrations, ensuring consistency, safety, and positive participant experiences.

Adult & Family Programming

Lead development and management of adult-focused offerings, including classes, lectures, social programs, and lifelong learning opportunities.
Oversee family and intergenerational programs designed to foster connection and community engagement.
Collaborate with internal departments to create cohesive programming pathways for members and participants.

Staff Supervision & Development

Supervise, mentor, and support program managers, coordinators, educators, and event staff.
Establish clear expectations, work schedules, and performance standards.
Support staff training, evaluation, and retention.
Review and approve payroll in accordance with JCC procedures.

Community Engagement & Partnerships

Build and maintain relationships with community partners, educators, vendors, and service providers.
Represent the JCC at community meetings and events as needed.
Collaborate with internal teams to enhance outreach and participation.

Budget, Revenue & Resource Management

Develop and manage budgets for programs, events, rentals, and celebrations.
Monitor earned revenue streams, including adult programs, facility rentals, and birthday parties.
Collaborate with Development and Finance teams on reporting and sustainability planning.

Evaluation & Continuous Improvement

Track participation, satisfaction, and financial performance metrics.
Use data, feedback, and best practices to continuously improve program quality and operational efficiency.

Equity, Inclusion & Access

Ensure programs and services are welcoming, inclusive, and accessible to individuals and families of diverse backgrounds, identities, and abilities.

Cross-Department Collaboration

Work closely with Membership, Early Childhood, Fitness, Camp, Facilities, Security, Marketing, and Development teams to ensure smooth operations and a positive participant experience
Develop, implement, and evaluate engaging programs that respond to community interests and support participation, retention, and revenue goals.
Ensure programs align with organizational priorities, policies, and operational standards.

Experience

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in community programming, adult education, event management, or nonprofit leadership.
Demonstrated experience supervising staff and managing multiple program areas.
Experience with JCC culture and Jewish communal life a plus.
Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
Experience managing budgets and fee-for-service programs.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
