Full Job Description

Title: Agency Caseworker

Organization

Mission Statement: Community Services Clearinghouse, Inc. is a primary resource to coordinate information and services which alleviate hunger in a seven-county area.

General Description

This position can be Tuesday-Friday 9am-2pm or Monday-Friday 8am-4pm. The incumbent will answer to and work directly with the Office Manager (OM) to ensure daily operations of Community Services Clearinghouse (the Clearinghouse).

Position

Reporting to the OM of the Clearinghouse, the Caseworker will serve as a key team member and help to ensure casework operations are run efficiently and in a timely manner.

S/He will work closely with the OM, and will take on a role that will enhance our services to the Clearinghouse clients as well as demonstrate a standard of conduct the will enhance the image of the Clearinghouse within the boundaries of the area that the Clearinghouse covers.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Complete, review, assess, and verify client applications for assistance.
Refer clients to other agency and resources for assistance.
Up date job boards in the lobby
Assist with Holiday programs.
Keep OM informed of any troublesome clients.
Keep current on all paperwork.
Assist with housekeeping and building maintenance chores as needed.
Assist in counts and data needed for yearly reports.
Stock pantry and help with daily pick-up and delivery
Perform other activities within the confines of the position at the request of the DO or ED.

Qualifications

A degree or completed college courses in social service or related field is preferred; however, significant experience in Human services related to charitable work may be substituted for all or part of this educational preference.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
Excellent customer service skills.
Strong organizational skills.
High energy and passion for the Clearinghouse.
Must have valid DL

Personnel

Provide leadership skills and a positive attitude with Clearinghouse staff and volunteers.
Maintain compliance within the parameters of the Employee Manual.

Time Requirements

S/He must have the ability and willingness on occasion to work nights of weekends on speaking engagements and fundraisers.

Physical Requirements

There will be occasions when physical labor is needed as part of the daily activities of the Clearinghouse.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
