Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Mill Set Up Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and setting up CNC milling machines to produce precision components according to detailed blueprints and specifications. Your expertise will ensure that production runs smoothly, efficiently, and with the highest quality standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machining technology, contribute to innovative manufacturing projects, and uphold safety and quality excellence in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to determine machining requirements.
Program CNC milling machines using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and verify programs for accuracy before production runs.
Set up CNC milling machines, including installing tooling, fixtures, and workpieces with precision using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.
Operate CNC machines such as CNC lathes and mills (Fanuc controls preferred), ensuring optimal machine performance and adherence to quality standards.
Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment.
Maintain detailed records of setups, adjustments, and inspections; ensure compliance with safety protocols and lean manufacturing principles.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting process enhancements.
Extensive experience insetup and operation of milling machines with a strong understanding of G-code programming languages.
Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and applying GD&T principles accurately.
Mechanical knowledge of machining tools, power tools, hand tools, tooling setups, and welding techniques.
Ability to use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision tools.
Knowledge of CNC controls such as Fanuc or equivalent systems for efficient machine operation.
Understanding of manufacturing processes including plastics injection molding and lean manufacturing practices.
Basic math skills necessary for calculations related to machining tolerances and measurements.
Experience working with CNC lathes and milling machines in a fast-paced production environment.

Pay: $25.00 - $36.00 per hour
