✔ Able to work on-site in Biloxi, MS

About Us
Educate. Advocate. Protect.
Our mission at Insured Solutions Group is to educate our clients on all the options available for Individual and Group Health and Life insurance. We are here to be your local advocate and resource. We care deeply about our clients, and for us, your coverage and protection are personal.
We're looking for an Account Manager who lives that mission every day — guiding individuals and employers through their options and standing in their corner when it matters most.
Your Role — Account Manager
As an Account Manager, you own the relationships at the heart of our business — serving both employer groups and individual clients. You are the primary liaison between our clients and their insurance carriers, the person who makes coverage work, keeps claims moving, and delivers renewals people can trust. On any given day you might negotiate a group renewal, guide a family through an ACA marketplace enrollment, help a client navigate Medicare options, or place an individual life or ancillary policy — all backed by Producers and a team that count on your expertise.
What you'll own:
- Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for a book of both group and individual clients, resolving coverage, enrollment, and claims questions with confidence.
- Manage the full group renewal cycle — review benefits, obtain proposals and coverage comparisons, negotiate terms with carriers, and present clear recommendations well ahead of each effective date.
- Guide individual clients through their options — ACA marketplace enrollments, Medicare plans, and individual life and ancillary coverage — matching each person to the right fit.
- Manage enrollments, changes, premium submissions, and coverage agreements accurately and on time for both group and individual business.
- Act as a claims advocate for every client, working carriers toward timely, correct resolutions.
- Keep every account clean and audit-ready in the Agency Management System — documenting conversations, issues, and carrier options, and clearing suspense items promptly.
- Keep Producers fully informed, and spot coverage-improvement and cross-sell opportunities that genuinely serve the client.
- Conduct every interaction in a way that protects against errors, omissions, and loss of business.
What We Look For
We seek professionals who bring both expertise and heart to their work:
✔ Reliability — Clients, carriers, and your team can count on you to follow through — every time.
✔ Critical Thinking — You navigate complex benefit scenarios and find solutions that actually make sense.
✔ Dedication & Ownership — You take pride in doing things the right way and don't pass problems along.
✔ Adaptability — You thrive in a fast-paced environment and pivot as regulations, plans, and client needs evolve.
✔ Client-Focused Mindset — You genuinely care about helping people make confident healthcare and benefit decisions.
✔ Attention to Detail — From eligibility and effective dates to billing and compliance, accuracy is non-negotiable.
✔ Professionalism & Positivity — You bring energy, confidence, and a solutions-driven attitude to every interaction.
What You Bring
- Minimum three years' experience in employee benefits, individual insurance, customer service, or a similar role with an underwriting and/or health insurance background.
- Familiarity with both sides of the book — group benefits as well as individual lines such as ACA marketplace, Medicare, and life/ancillary coverage — a strong plus.
- Mississippi Life & Health License; satisfactory employment record.
- Four-year college degree is preferred.
- Working knowledge of agency-management and benefits systems — AgencyBloc, Employee Navigator, and carrier portals a strong plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication, above-average math skills, and the discipline to self-manage a full book of business.
Key Performance Indicators
Here's exactly how success in this role is measured:
- Client retention: achieve and maintain a 92%+ annual retention rate across your assigned book of group and individual clients.
- Renewal management: present renewal terms and negotiated carrier options to 100% of assigned groups at least 45 days before their renewal effective date.
- Service responsiveness: resolve or escalate 100% of client service requests — claims, coverage questions, enrollment changes — within 2 business days.
- Documentation & compliance: keep account records complete and current with zero errors-and-omissions incidents; clear suspense items within 5 business days.
- Satisfaction & growth: reach a 90%+ client satisfaction score on annual reviews, and identify coverage-improvement or cross-sell opportunities across both group and individual clients each year.
Can You Solve This?
We're looking for sharp thinkers who can reason through real-world situations. As you consider this role, see how you'd approach these:
Scenario #1: The Renewal Shock
A 45-life group's renewal comes back from the carrier with a 39% increase, and it lands just three weeks before the effective date. The employer is upset and hinting they'll shop the coverage elsewhere.
→ How do you work the renewal, what alternatives do you explore, and how do you present it to keep the group?
Scenario #2: Active but Not Covered
A newly hired employee's coverage was submitted, but their claim was just denied. The group's plan has a first-of-the-month-following-30-days waiting period. The employee was hired on the 20th and had the claim early the following month.
→ What's the most likely explanation, and how do you clearly and calmly walk both the employee and the employer through it?
Scenario #3: The Marketplace Mix-Up
An individual client calls in a panic: they enrolled in an ACA marketplace plan during open enrollment, but their new insurance card never arrived and the pharmacy says they have no active coverage. Their effective date was the first of this month.
→ What are the most likely causes, and what steps would you take to get this client covered and calm?
Scenario #4: The Billing Mismatch
Payroll is deducting for employee-plus-dependent coverage, but the carrier's monthly invoice only reflects employee-only for that same person.
→ Where do you look first, and how do you reconcile it before it becomes a bigger problem?
