Chief Executive Officer of PCFCU

About PCFCU
People’s Community Federal Credit Union, founded in 1952, serves those who live, work, or worship anywhere in Clark, Cowlitz, or Skamania Counties. With over 10,000 members and $276,000,000 in assets, we are a strong and creative financial services institution. We fulfill our people-helping-people mission by serving our members’ financial needs. The CEO’s Role

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and day-to-day management of the credit union. This is a hands-on role requiring active involvement in all operational areas, including lending, underwriting, financial management, member services, compliance, and staff leadership. The CEO works closely with, and reports to, the Board of Directors to ensure the credit union operates in a safe, sound, and member-focused manner. This is a fully in-office role at our headquarters in Hazel Dell, Washington, with local travel to other offices within a 20-mile radius.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

Provide strategic leadership and vision in alignment with the credit union’s mission and goals
Collaborate with the Board of Directors to develop and execute long-term strategic plans
Ensure organizational performance meets established financial and operational objectives
Foster a culture centered on member service, accountability, and operational excellence

Lending & Underwriting

Oversee all aspects of the credit union’s lending program, including consumer, real estate, and business lending
Actively participate in and/or make final underwriting and credit decisions, particularly for complex or large loans
Ensure adherence to sound underwriting practices, risk management principles, and regulatory requirements
Monitor loan portfolio performance, asset quality, and concentration risks

Financial Management

Oversee budgeting, financial reporting, asset/liability management, and overall financial performance
Ensure the credit union maintains strong capital, liquidity, and earnings
Monitor key financial metrics and implement strategies to achieve performance targets

Operations & Member Service

Direct daily operations to ensure efficient, compliant, and high-quality service delivery
Ensure a strong member experience across all delivery channels
Oversee product development, pricing strategies, and service offerings

Compliance & Risk Management

Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations, including NCUA requirements
Maintain strong internal controls, policies, and procedures
Work closely with auditors and examiners to ensure regulatory compliance

Human Resources & Team Leadership

Lead, mentor, and develop staff across all departments
Promote a positive, collaborative, and high-performance work environment
Oversee hiring, performance management, and organizational development

Community & Member Engagement

Represent the credit union within the community and industry
Build and maintain relationships with members, business partners, and community organizations
Support community involvement and outreach initiatives

What We’re Looking For

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field
Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive leadership experience in financial services, preferably within a credit union
Strong background in lending and credit underwriting, including commercial and real estate lending
Demonstrated experience in financial management and regulatory compliance
Proven leadership, decision-making, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in finance or business management
2+ years as CEO of a financial institution
Experience growing the member base of a financial institution

Compensation & Benefits

Annual Base Salary: $230,000–$260,000, depending on experience
Annual Incentive Bonus: Up to 20% of base salary, based on achievement of PCFCU goals
