As an “all in one” solution, Canapii offers live streaming, real-time analytics, registration, inbuilt live translation, networking, audience engagement and much more. Canapii is a subsidiary of Canalys, a global leader in tech analysis. ‘Canalis’ is Latin for a channel or a routes-to-market – the area in which all the companies related to the Canalys group still function.

As Canapii scales, it is looking for a software engineer to join the team and work with a diverse and energetic international team across the offices in all regions. We are looking for a talented person who is versatile, with the ability to contribute ideas and deliver to a high standard. Self-motivation, independence, resourcefulness, creativity and ability to work to realistic but tight deadlines. As a team player, you should also possess good interpersonal and communication skills and be comfortable working in a cross-cultural environment.

Role and responsibilities:

A key part of the role is working with other Canapii team members designing and delivering tooling and processes for our developers. Whilst overseeing all parts of the software development lifecycle of products on iOS, Android and HTML5 from code to production.

You will be responsible for developing and designing a highly scalable system architecture, ensuring responsiveness of applications, working closely with the development team, running tests and debugging, among other duties. We expect the candidate to show willing to grow beyond current skillset and keep customer, business and security in mind while writing code.

Skills and experience:

This position provides a large opportunity for professional growth as we scale our organization. The individual who joins our team should expect to scale with our company and be ready to take on larger responsibilities over time.

5 years’ + experience in a commercial environment doing Full-stack or Back-end software development

Degree in Computing or a related technical field

Great written and verbal communication in English.

Have a “can do” attitude

Delivering projects and KPIs on-time with high quality

Can work at a fast-paced environment and Consider performance, usability and security while coding

Experience/Education to demonstrate a track record in building web platforms including experience in DevOps, software architecture, JavaScript/Typescript code proficiently

Familiar with AWS Services, Serverless, NoSQL, Mobile Apps, Ionic/Cordova/ Angular

Knowledge and experience with AWS services is a plus

Ability to use a wide variety of open-source technologies and tools

Ability to learn new technologies/skills independently through online resources

Experience developing applications in all applicable platforms is preferred.

You will currently be working remotely for this position. We are looking for people based in Philippines.
