Position Summary
We are seeking a Plant Health Care Specialist who is passionate about preserving and improving the health of trees and shrubs through science-based diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys identifying plant health issues, developing treatment recommendations, and helping clients protect and improve the health of their landscapes.
The Plant Health Care Specialist is responsible for diagnosing, treating, monitoring, and improving the health of trees and shrubs through proactive inspections and customized treatment programs. This position requires technical knowledge, attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to safety and customer service.
Primary Responsibilities
Conduct property inspections and identify insect, disease, soil, cultural, environmental, and structural issues affecting plant health.
Diagnose tree and shrub health issues and recommend appropriate treatment solutions.
Perform trunk injections, soil injections, bark sprays, foliar sprays, soil drenches, fertilization, plant growth regulator applications, and other approved Plant Health Care treatments.
Monitor client properties and identify developing plant health concerns.
Develop treatment recommendations and long-term plant health care plans.
Maintain accurate treatment records, inspection notes, recommendations, product usage records, and regulatory documentation.
Manage Plant Health Care inventory, chemical storage, ordering, treatment records, and regulatory compliance.
Operate, inspect, and maintain Plant Health Care equipment, vehicles, trailers, and application systems.
Communicate professionally with clients regarding treatment results, recommendations, and ongoing plant health concerns.
Follow all ANSI standards, OSHA regulations, pesticide label requirements, and company safety policies.
Support company growth through professionalism, technical expertise, and exceptional customer service.

When Plant Health Care work is limited, the Plant Health Care Specialist may assist with other field operations, equipment maintenance, shop organization, training activities, safety meetings, and other company initiatives as business needs require.
Qualifications
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Ability to safely operate company vehicles and confidently back trucks with trailer-mounted equipment.
Ability to obtain and maintain a North Carolina Commercial Pesticide Applicator License within the required timeframe.
Ability to lift 75 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
Preferred Qualifications
ISA Certified Arborist.
North Carolina Commercial Pesticide Applicator License.
Experience in Plant Health Care, arboriculture, forestry, landscaping, nursery operations, or related fields.
Experience identifying common insect, disease, and environmental issues affecting trees and shrubs.
Compensation
$24.00–$32.00 per hour based on experience, certifications, and qualifications.
Overtime paid in accordance with applicable law.
Annual performance reviews with opportunities for advancement and wage increases.
