About Seaside Dermatology:

Seaside Dermatology offers comprehensive dermatologic care including full-body skin checks, medical dermatology, Mohs surgery, laser treatments and cosmetic services. We are a growing practice located in Englewood, Florida, with five medical providers.

Job Description:

The medical assistant will support our board-certified physicians and physician extenders during skin exams, general dermatology office visits, and procedures including biopsies and injections.

Medical assistants at this office will also have the opportunity to train with our surgical team in performing Mohs Micrographic surgery, excisions, and repairs (complex to grafts).

Medical assistants are under the medical direction of the clinic providers and general administrative direction of the practice administrator.

Job Responsibilities:

Room patients, take health histories, and perform vital signs
Clean exam rooms, launder exam gowns, and maintain supplies daily
Prepare patients for outpatient procedures and routine skin exams
Prepare exam rooms for procedures, including setting up equipment and supplies for biopsies and the sterile field for surgery
Assist providers with patient care, procedures, biopsies, referrals, surgical excisions, repairs, and wound care
Clean and sterilize surgical instruments
Educate patients on post-operative wound care
Performing intramuscular (IM) and subcutaneous (SubQ) injections
Prepare and administer admixtures of medication
Ensure that charts contain all necessary documentation (i.e. consent forms, lab reports, photos, etc.)
Scribe for provider using EMR system as needed
Maintain appropriate pathology log and communicate results to patients

Job Qualifications:

Candidates must possess previous hands-on experience in a medical assistant position, new graduates are encouraged to apply
Previous hands-on experience in an outpatient clinic setting
Previous experience administering medication intramuscular (IM) and subcutaneous (SubQ) preferred, however comprehensive training is available for the right candidate
Current CPR/BLS certification
The ideal candidate should be a self-starter, reliable, detail oriented, and possess a strong capability for multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
Professional, friendly demeanor
Works well in team environment
Dermatology/Surgical experience a plus
EMR documentation

Proven competencies/skills: analytical, problem solving, clinical/technical, patient/customer service orientation, bedside manners, interpersonal and written communications, thoroughness and teamwork

Schedule:

Monday through Friday, half day Friday
8am-5pm, occasional overtime
No weekends
