Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical Technologist to join our dynamic Orthopedic/Spine surgical team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the operating room, ensuring that surgical procedures are conducted safely and efficiently. This position requires a strong understanding of infection control, patient care, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment within a Outpatient Surgery Center. Wearing different hats and being a team player are key skills for this position.

Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain the sterile field during surgical procedures.
Assist surgeons and other medical staff by providing necessary instruments and supplies.
Ensure all surgical instruments are accounted for before and after procedures.
Implement infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment for patients.
Collaborate with the surgical team to optimize patient care and outcomes.
Utilize electronic health record systems, such as HST for documentation and communication.
Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current with best practices in surgical technology.
Assist with turn-over of rooms, patient positioning, and supporting the team wherever needed.

Experience

Certification as a Surgical Technologist from an accredited program is required.
Previous experience in an Orthopedic operating room setting is highly desirable.
Familiarity with medical-surgical procedures and protocols is essential.
Knowledge of basic life support techniques is required.
Experience with data collection processes related to patient care is an asset.
Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and anticipating the surgeons next move.
