Commercial Landscape Sales Representative (Estimator)

The role
We build and maintain commercial landscapes across Ventura County, Santa Barbara County, the Central Coast, and the San Fernando Valley. We have been doing it since 1970. Our clients are property managers, HOA boards, facilities teams, general contractors, and landscape architects.
We need a salesperson to grow our book of business. You would build relationships, walk sites, present proposals, and close contracts. Estimating supports your selling, but this is a sales role first.
Responsibilities
- Prospect for new maintenance and construction work through site walks, referrals, networking, and outreach
- Build and grow relationships with property managers, HOA boards, GCs, and landscape architects
- Walk sites with prospects and position Plowboy as the right partner
- Manage a pipeline and move deals from first contact to signed contract
- Present proposals and handle questions, revisions, and negotiations
- Grow existing accounts by spotting additional work
- Build cost estimates and complete takeoffs, working with our estimator on complex jobs
- Track opportunities through referrals, plan rooms, and agency portals
- Hand off awarded work to superintendents with full documentation
- Maintain the pipeline and client records in our CRM
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, landscape architecture, horticulture, construction management, or a related field. Equivalent industry experience considered in place of a degree
- 3+ years selling in commercial landscape, construction, or a related field, with a record of closing
- Strong relationship building and presentation skills
- Enough estimating ability to scope and price work, or the aptitude to learn our system quickly
- Able to read construction plans and specifications, or the drive to develop that skill
- Proficient with spreadsheets, estimating software, and CRM tools
- Valid California driver's license and clean driving record
- Able to travel regularly to job sites across our service area
Preferred
- Existing relationships with property managers, HOA boards, or GCs in the region
- Prevailing wage and public works bidding experience
- Knowledge of California water regulations and MWELO compliance
- Bilingual English and Spanish
