We are looking for a dedicated Accounting Supervisor who shares these values and is ready to play a key role in supporting our operations.

Position Overview

Southland Sod Farms is seeking an experienced and hands-on Accounting Supervisor to lead and actively participate in our day-to-day accounting functions. This is not a desk-only management role — we are looking for someone who is willing to roll up their sleeves, work alongside the team, and ensure accuracy across all accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities

· Oversee and perform accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions

· Manage account reconciliations including bank accounts, vendor balances, and general ledger

· Handle cost accounting related to agricultural operations, inventory, and job costing

· Oversee billing and invoicing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

· Prepare and post general ledger entries and adjustments

· Lead and participate in month-end and year-end close processes

· Process and/or oversee payroll using ADP, ensuring compliance and accuracy

· Maintain strong internal controls and accurate financial records

· Supervise and support accounting staff while remaining hands-on

· Work closely with operations to support reporting and costing

· Identify opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency

· Develop financial Metrics / KPI’s

Qualifications

· 5+ years of progressive accounting experience

· Strong experience with AP, AR, general ledger, and reconciliations

· Experience with ADP payroll systems is required

· Prior supervisory or lead accounting experience preferred

· Solid understanding of GAAP principles

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software

· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

· Bilingual in English and Spanish Preferred

Schedule: Monday-Friday

Location: Oxnard, Ca.; in Office (not a remote position)
