Front Desk Receptionist

Location: Red Roof Inn – Vermillion, SD

Position Summary

Red Roof Inn is seeking a reliable, customer-focused, and detail-oriented Front Desk Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 1–2 years of previous hotel front desk experience and be committed to providing exceptional guest service while helping maintain a clean, welcoming, and well-operated property.

Requirements

Minimum 1–2 years of prior hotel front desk experience (required)
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Strong computer and organizational skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Must be available to work morning shifts when needed, as well as evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Must be dependable, professional, and a team player
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and perform light housekeeping duties when needed

Responsibilities

Greet guests warmly and professionally upon arrival and departure.
Check guests in and out efficiently while providing outstanding customer service.
Answer phone calls, make reservations, and respond to guest inquiries.
Address guest requests, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally.
Ensure all guest needs and special requests are fulfilled promptly.
Handle cash, credit card transactions, and maintain accurate records.
Assist with daily laundry, including washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens and towels.
Help maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the hotel, including the lobby, breakfast area, public restrooms, hallways, entrances, parking lot, and other common areas.
Ensure the property is clean and presentable both inside and outside at all times.
Inspect guest rooms after housekeeping has completed cleaning to ensure they meet Red Roof Inn cleanliness and quality standards before releasing them for occupancy.
Report maintenance issues and safety concerns immediately.
Restock supplies and keep work areas clean and organized.
Follow hotel policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Perform other duties assigned by management to ensure smooth hotel operations.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience using hotel property management systems (PMS) is preferred.
Previous experience in hospitality, customer service, or hotel operations.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
