Full Job Description

Work Hours:

This Bookkeeper position is full time, salaried, and exempt. The regular work hours are 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday-Friday. Hours often vary during the theatre's "season,” based on the seasonal needs.

Essential Duties and Primary Responsibilities:

Possess an understanding of Balance Sheets, Income Statements, and Budgets
Project accounting
Strong journal entry skills with projects
Reconcile payable GL account to open payables report
Reconcile multiple bank accounts
Adjust various inventories on a monthly basis
Report, file and pay monthly worker's compensation insurance
Renew and pay various licenses
Prepare reports and pay royalties
Pay union fees and dues, review reports for accuracy
Payables for Capital Campaign
Assistant in payables during busy season

Required Skills and Qualifications:

GAAP
Prior accounting experience
Understanding of balance sheets and profit & loss statements
MS Excel
Accounting software experience, such as Financial Edge, Blackbaud, etc.

Physical Requirements:

Working at a desk for extended periods of time
