Inventory Control Coordinator

Job Summary:

The Warehouse Associate is a part the Division of Facilities Planning & Management (FP&M), Department of Physical Plant in the operational area of Stores at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. As a Warehouse Associate, your work will support the daily warehouse operations by receiving, processing, and organizing a wide variety of deliveries. This role involves frequent interaction with coworkers, FP&M tradespeople, and vendor delivery personnel.

Responsibilities include interpreting packing lists, maintaining accurate inventory records, developing expertise in warehouse products and materials, ordering and utilizing a computerized inventory management system. This position requires the ability to work independently in a secure, climate-controlled warehouse environment while ensuring efficient inventory control and distribution of supplies.

Full-Time: 100% FTE

Hours are typically scheduled from 7:00AM to 3:30PM Monday to Friday.

Key Job Responsibilities:

Inspects and inventories received items and processes notifications to appropriate entities

Tracks inventory levels and places replenishment orders following established vendor procurement procedures

Generates inventory reports to account for available stock and usage

Shelves inventory and maintains organization

Provides product information, guidance, and training to customers and coworkers

About the Division of Facilities Planning & Management (FP&M):
The Division of Facilities Planning & Management (FP&M) is a full-spectrum service organization that builds, maintains, and operates the physical environment of UW-Madison in the university's education, research, and outreach activities.

Compensation:

$23.00 hourly minimum

The minimum rate for this position is $23.00, but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Required Qualifications:

Customer service experience with a diverse range of customers, including varying backgrounds, needs, and communication style
Experience with Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
Strong Attention to Detail
Ability to obtain Forklift Certification within 1 year of employment. UW-Madison provides classroom training and support to obtain the certification.

Education:

High School Diploma; preferred
