Full Job Description

To provide high-quality Occupational Therapy services to children from birth to age three with developmental delays and disabilities. This role partners closely with families to support children’s development through individualized interventions, family coaching, and collaboration with the ECI team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education/Certification:

Masters’s degree in Occupational Therapy

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Strong organizational, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Knowledge of child development and developmental milestones.
Understanding of therapeutic strategies to support motor, sensory, and adaptive skill development.

Minimum Experience:

One year of experience working with young children, preferably in early intervention, pediatrics, or family-centered settings.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Provide direct Occupational Therapy services to children and families in home and community settings.
Participate in developmental screenings and evaluations as part of the ECI team.
Interpret assessment data, prepare clear reports, and share results with families in a supportive manner.
Partner with families and interdisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and review Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs).
Maintain accurate and timely records, reports, and documentation in compliance with program, state, and federal guidelines.
Serve as a resource for families and staff regarding motor development, adaptive equipment, and strategies to support participation in daily routines.
Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) as assigned.
Maintain licensure requirements and remain current with evidence-based practices and professional development.

Equipment Used:

Daily use of laptop, electronic health records systems, and other technology or equipment necessary for documentation, communication, and service delivery.

Strong communication and instructional skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to varied environments.
Maintain professionalism, empathy, and emotional regulation in diverse situations.
Interpret policies, procedures, and data to guide best practices.

Environment/Physical Demands:

Frequent in-region and occasional out-of-region travel.
Occasional extended or irregular hours.
Work in home and community environments with varying accessibility.
Physical activities may include standing, sitting, lifting, carrying, bending, stooping, and reaching.
