Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Surgical Services - CVOR Tech to support vascular and cardiovascular surgical procedures at Augusta Hospital. This role is essential in maintaining a safe and efficient operating room environment by preparing surgical equipment, assisting surgical teams, and ensuring strict adherence to sterile technique and patient safety standards. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of surgical technologist experience, previous travel experience, and strong knowledge of vascular OR procedures, hybrid OR cases, and advanced surgical equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain operating rooms for vascular and cardiovascular surgical procedures
Assist surgeons and surgical teams during complex vascular OR cases while maintaining sterile technique
Set up surgical instruments, supplies, equipment, and case carts according to procedure requirements
Support hybrid OR procedures and endovascular vascular cases
Assist with vascular procedures including abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, carotid endarterectomy, aortobifemoral bypass, femoral popliteal bypass graft, and endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR)
Handle surgical instruments, scopes, fiber optic equipment, electrosurgical units, and other specialized equipment
Maintain proper specimen handling, labeling, and documentation according to hospital standards
Follow aseptic technique, universal protocol, time-out procedures, radiation safety, and infection prevention guidelines
Ensure proper use of PPE and maintain compliance with sharps safety practices
Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia providers, and other healthcare professionals to support quality patient care
Assist with emergency surgical procedures and maintain readiness of crash cart equipment
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient operating room environment
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of Surgical Technologist/CVOR Tech experience required
- Previous travel experience required.
- Experience in Vascular OR and Hybrid OR settings required
- Knowledge of vascular procedures including EVAR, AAA repair, carotid procedures, bypass grafts, and fistula repair.
- Cardiovascular procedure experience (CABG, TAVR, valve replacement, VAD) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and OR protocols
Experience with surgical equipment including scopes, fiber optic equipment, and electrosurgical units preferred.About APN Healthcare Solutions:
