Full Job Description

National Capital Flag is in the process of having a new website built and we are looking for someone to help us manage our website and lead the design and monitoring of our marketing campaigns.

About Us:

National Capital Flag Co, Inc. (NCF) was established in 1962 and is located in Alexandria, Virginia.

NCF has the largest offering of flags and banners in the country. Most flags are available from miniature 4x6" desktop models to 30'x50'. We carry all major flag brands for resale and all of our flags are made in the U.S.A.

Additionally, NCF manufactures on its premises custom embroidered and appliqué flags and banners for U.S. Government Agencies, all branches of the U.S. Military, commercial customers, and private use. We are an approved manufacturer for The Institute of Heraldry. Military flags and guidons are made to the Institute of Heraldry specifications. Custom digitally printed flags and banner services for advertising, conventions, exhibits, and trade shows are also available.

Flags and flagpole accessories and ornaments for all occasions are also available which will meet the display specifications for U.S. Government, organization, military honor guard, and private use.

The Job:

We are looking to grow NCF and we would like to find someone to join our team to manage our marketing and website:

Marketing Manager: you will be responsible developing and implementing digital marketing strategies for National Capital Flag.

As Marketing Manager you will be responsible for all of National Capital Flag’s social media content and marketing campaigns.

As Marketing Manager you will be responsible for designing, running, and monitoring:

social media content,
direct mail/ email campaigns,
PPC campaigns (google, reddit, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc),
blog/content marketing,
backlinks,
retargeting,
affiliate marketing,
search engine optimization, and
any other method of direct and digital marketing.

You will also be responsible for:

moderating website and social media comments and discussions for abuse, and
creating and tracking key performance indicators

Website Manager: The Website Manager is an integral member of our team. This position is responsible for managing National Capital Flag’s website.

The Website Manager will oversee the functionality of the website, evaluate website performance, facilitate hosting and server management, and develop, maintain, and update website content.

Keep the website / plug-ins updated and functioning.
Developing a database of our products and pricing and uploading them to our website and eventually other marketplaces (Amazon, Ebay, etc)
Developing and updating blog posts,
To ensure success, the Website Manager must display an excellent understanding of WordPress and WooCommerce, Firewalls, and Security Audits.
The top candidates will be comfortable troubleshooting and constantly improving the User Experience (UX).
The Website Manager will employ and model an audience-first approach in strategizing the development of new features and governance of National Capital Flag’s digital platforms.
Must be familiar with heat mapping, Search Engine Optimization, Google Analytics, KPIs, and other web monitoring tools.
Working knowledge of Excel is a plus.
There have been no modifications to our plug-ins but the primary programming languages include CSS, HTML, XML, PHP, JavaScript.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
