Full Job Description

Staff Accountant - Multi-Entity Construction & Manufacturing

Location: Vincennes, Indiana
Job Type: Full-Time, In Person
Base Pay: $70,000 - $85,000 per year

We are a well-established, multi-entity construction organization serving the electrical contracting and precast manufacturing industries. We have established accounting systems, an experienced internal accounting team, and outside CPA support for higher-level tax and specialized accounting needs.

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Accounting Manager to oversee daily accounting operations across multiple affiliated companies. This role will supervise experienced accounting staff, support payroll continuity, prepare and submit sales tax filings, oversee month-end close, and work directly with ownership, outside accountants, auditors, insurance brokers, bonding companies, and banks.

Key responsibilities include reviewing financial activity, preparing monthly financial statements, reviewing reconciliations and accounts payable, supporting payroll controls, filing sales tax returns, maintaining corporate records, coordinating insurance renewals, supporting bonding and banking documentation, leading accounting staff, and improving internal processes.

Required qualifications include strong hands-on accounting experience, payroll experience or oversight, strong Excel skills, QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise or comparable accounting software experience, excellent communication skills, strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to work in person in Vincennes, Indiana.

Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered. Construction, job-costing, manufacturing, multi-entity, or small-business accounting experience is strongly preferred.
