Senior Quality Manager
Location: New Jersey

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Quality Manager to lead all quality operations for a manufacturing facility in New Jersey. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the Quality Management System (QMS), regulatory compliance, customer quality initiatives, validation, metrology, quality engineering, and continuous improvement efforts. The Senior Quality Manager will serve as the site’s Quality Management Representative while partnering with cross-functional leadership to drive operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Leadership

Lead all site quality functions, including Quality Control, Quality Engineering, Validation, Metrology, and Quality Systems.
Develop and execute quality strategies that support operational performance and business objectives.
Establish quality goals, KPIs, and performance metrics while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing quality organization.
Partner with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Plant Leadership to embed quality into daily operations.

Quality Management Systems (QMS)

Maintain and continuously improve the site’s Quality Management System.
Ensure compliance with internal procedures, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
Develop, implement, and revise quality policies, procedures, and work instructions.
Lead quality planning initiatives and support company-wide quality improvement programs.

Regulatory Compliance & Audits

Serve as the primary site representative during customer, regulatory, and third-party audits.
Maintain audit readiness and ensure ongoing compliance with applicable quality standards.
Lead internal audit programs and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) activities.
Manage responses to audit findings and drive timely resolution of corrective actions.
Partner with corporate quality leadership to strengthen compliance initiatives.

Customer Quality

Act as the primary quality liaison for customers regarding quality issues, audits, and improvement initiatives.
Lead customer complaint investigations utilizing root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
Foster strong customer relationships through proactive communication and responsiveness.

Quality Engineering & Validation

Provide technical quality support for manufacturing operations, process improvements, and new product launches.
Oversee validation planning, execution, documentation, and compliance activities.
Support Statistical Process Control (SPC), process capability studies, Design of Experiments (DOE), and data-driven process improvements.
Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of laboratory and metrology equipment.

Leadership & Team Development

Recruit, develop, and mentor quality professionals.
Establish departmental goals and individual performance objectives.
Deliver quality system training across the organization.
Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and employee engagement.
Support succession planning and long-term talent development within the Quality organization.

Qualifications

Required

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Science, Business, or another related technical discipline.
7+ years of progressive quality management experience within a manufacturing environment.
3+ years of leadership experience managing technical, salaried, and/or hourly employees.
Strong working knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and regulatory compliance.
Experience leading customer, regulatory, and third-party audits.
Proven experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Proficiency with ERP systems, Quality Management Systems (QMS), and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred

Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, healthcare packaging, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
Experience within plastics manufacturing, injection molding, or related processing technologies.
Knowledge of:
- FDA 21 CFR Part 820
- ISO 13485
- ISO 9001
- Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- Design of Experiments (DOE)
- Process Capability Analysis
- Validation protocols and methodologies
