Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Accounting team by maintaining the general ledger, assisting with month-end close, and managing the sales tax process across multiple entities. This position is responsible for preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, ensuring timely sales tax filings, and supporting the Accounting Manager and Controller with financial reporting and special projects.

Location: Vineland, NJ
Pay: $34.00 – $38.50 per hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and post journal entries and assist with the month-end close process.
Maintain the general ledger and perform account reconciliations.
Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual sales tax returns for multiple entities.
Ensure timely and accurate sales tax compliance across multiple states.
Research and resolve sales tax issues while maintaining accurate documentation.
Assist with financial reporting and support the Accounting Manager and Controller with special projects.
Utilize multiple accounting systems to maintain accurate financial records and reporting.

Qualifications

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required.
2-3+ years of general ledger accounting experience.
Experience with month-end close and journal entries.
Sales tax experience or exposure is required.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Experience with GP, Sage, Made2Manage, OneSource, or Avalara is a plus.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
