Full Job Description

This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing daily activities, structured routines, community engagement, and skill‑building opportunities for residents and day participants. The role supports quality of life, structure, and readiness for future opportunities while operating under the direction of the Executive Director (ED)

Activities & Daily Programming

Supervise the Education/Life Skills Manager (EdM), Art Manager (AM), and Recreation Manager (RM) in the planning and implementation of daily activities and programming for residents and day participants.
Research, coordinate, and develop monthly activity calendars, incorporating educational, recreational, pre‑vocational, and enrichment activities aligned with resident interests and abilities.
Oversee and participate in the planning and implementation of daily routines, group activities, and on‑campus outings that support engagement, independence, and community inclusion.
Assist the Executive Director and Services Director with the development, maintenance, and implementation of the Master Daily Schedule for residents and day participants.

Resident Engagement & Skill Development

Support residents and day participants in building routine, work‑readiness, and life skills through structured daily activities and skill‑building programming.
Meet routinely with residents and day participants to monitor participation, engagement, and satisfaction with activities and daily routines.
Encourage participation in activities that promote social skills, responsibility, confidence, and independence.

Coordination with Services Leadership

Collaborate with the Service Director and Admissions and Abilities Assessment Director when residents and day participants are involved in activity‑based components of assessments or Individual Support Plans (ISPs), supporting implementation only and not clinical decision‑making.
Provide input to leadership regarding activity participation trends, scheduling effectiveness, and programming needs.

Safety, Environment, and Supplies

Inspect activity and programming areas routinely to ensure cleanliness, organization, and safety.
Monitor activity‑related supplies and materials and coordinate replenishment needs with leadership.
Identify and report safety concerns, environmental issues, or incidents observed during activities to appropriate leadership in accordance with agency policy.

General Expectations

Maintain professional, supportive interactions with residents, day participants, and staff during activities and routines.
Adhere to agency policies, DBHDS requirements, OSHA standards, and Infection Control practices.
Participate in required training and certifications applicable to this role.
Perform additional activity‑related duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
Read, understand, and comply with VGL policies

Minimum Requirements:

2 years of paid experience creating, implementing, directing, supervising, and overseeing the programming of education and training in providing supervision, direction, development, implementation, and monitoring interests pursued by people with disabilities, impairments, disorders,and/or deficiencies;
College level education ( Masters Degree preferred);
Criminal Records clearance;
Central Registry Background Investigation clearance;
Credit Check approval;
Documented Tuberculosis Screening clearance;
Pass Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE).

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
