SEQ Drilling, Inc. is looking for a dependable, hard-working Drill Helper to join our field crew based out of Hanover, VA.
This is not a sit-in-the-truck-all-day job. You will work alongside an experienced driller on construction and engineering projects, helping collect soil and rock samples, set up drilling equipment, and keep the job site safe and organized. If you like working outdoors, learning equipment, and being part of a crew that gets the job done right, this can become a real career—not just another labor job.
What You’ll Do
- Assist with setting up, operating, cleaning, and maintaining geotechnical drilling equipment.
- Handle drill rods, tooling, soil and rock samples, and job-site materials safely.
- Load and unload equipment, prepare tools and materials, and keep the work area organized.
- Help maintain a safe, efficient drill site and follow all company and job-site safety requirements.
- Assist with basic equipment care and troubleshooting.
- Learn drilling procedures and field operations directly from an experienced crew.
What We Need From You
- Must be at least 21 years old due to company vehicle insurance requirements.
- Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record required.
- Must be able to reliably report to our Hanover shop for early-morning starts.
- Comfortable working outdoors in heat, cold, rain, mud, and uneven terrain.
- Able to safely lift, carry, push, and pull heavy equipment and materials throughout the day.
- Willing and able to travel to job sites, including occasional overnight travel.
- Able to work extended days and overtime when project schedules require it.
- Dependable, safety-minded, willing to learn, and able to work well as part of a crew.
Construction, drilling, CDL, mechanical, equipment, or outdoor field-work experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person.
Pay & Benefits
Starting pay is $18.00 per hour, with overtime opportunities and room to grow based on experience and performance.
