About the Role
As a Senior Marine Structural Fitter, you will play a vital role in the construction and repair of complex marine vessels. By utilizing your expertise in structural layout and blueprint interpretation, you will ensure that all steel components are fabricated and installed to meet rigorous maritime standards, directly contributing to the structural integrity and operational readiness of the fleet.
Responsibilities-
Interpret complex engineering drawings and work packages to execute precise structural installations.

Fabricate and assemble critical shipboard components, including bulkheads, foundations, and stiffeners.

Utilize thermal cutting equipment and power tools to prepare materials for assembly.

Perform tack welding and utilize rigging tools like chain falls and jacks to ensure accurate alignment.

Verify tolerances using precision measuring instruments to guarantee high-quality workmanship.

Coordinate with diverse trade teams to streamline project workflows and meet production milestones.

Maintain a secure and organized workspace in compliance with maritime safety regulations.
Qualifications

Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in a shipyard or maritime repair setting.

Demonstrated proficiency in reading and interpreting complex structural blueprints.

Proven ability to pass a comprehensive hands-on trade assessment.

Expertise in steel fabrication, layout techniques, and precision measurement.

Strong understanding of shipboard safety protocols and quality control standards.

Experience working on U.S. Navy vessels or within major naval repair facilities.

Current OSHA 10 Maritime certification.

Advanced proficiency in oxy-fuel cutting, plasma cutting, and carbon arc gouging.

Active shipyard access credentials or the ability to obtain them.
