About the Opportunity
Kodiak Labor Solutions is hiring an experienced Pipefitter / Welder Foreman for a long-term opportunity with one of Virginia's premier mechanical contractors. This isn't maintenance work. You'll be leading crews on commercial mechanical construction and special projects, including renovations, retrofits, and equipment replacements for facilities throughout Central Virginia.

What You’ll Do
As the Welder / Pipefitter Foreman, you will lead field crews on commercial and industrial job sites while helping ensure quality work, strong productivity, and safe project execution.
In this role, you will:
- Lead and supervise pipefitting and welding crews in the field.
- Coordinate manpower, tools, equipment, and materials to support project schedules.
- Install, fit, and weld piping systems for commercial and industrial projects.
- Perform or oversee welding using SMAW, MIG, TIG, Stick, and other applicable welding processes.
- Work on HVAC piping, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, hydronic piping, and related mechanical systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, submittals, weld symbols, and project specifications.
- Lay out piping systems, verify measurements, and ensure proper fit-up and installation.
- Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, general contractors, and other trades.
- Monitor field progress, troubleshoot issues, and help keep projects moving forward.
- Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to quality standards.
- Support pressure testing, leak testing, flushing, startup, and system turnover activities as needed.
- Promote safe work practices and help maintain compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
What You Bring
The ideal candidate has previous Foreman experience leading welding and pipefitting crews, strong commercial or industrial piping experience, and the ability to keep field teams focused, productive, and safe. You should be comfortable reading blueprints, working from project specifications, coordinating materials and manpower, communicating with project leadership, and solving field issues before they impact the schedule.

Qualifications
- Previous Foreman experience leading welding and pipefitting crews.
- Strong experience welding and fitting piping systems in commercial or industrial environments.
- Experience with HVAC piping, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, and related mechanical systems is required.
- Ability to read blueprints, submittals, project specifications, and isometric drawings.
- Working knowledge of SMAW, MIG, TIG, Stick, and other common welding processes.
- Ability to coordinate manpower, materials, tools, and daily field activities.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and productivity.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.

Schedule
This is a full-time, in-person field position. Schedule may vary based on project needs, and overtime may be available depending on workload and project deadlines.
