Job Summary:
The Site Technician is a full‑time training and maintenance professional responsible for maintaining Conflict Kinetics (CK) proprietary synthetic weapon and operating system for Naval Expeditionary Combat Command (NECC) covering small arms and crew‑served weapon systems. The role manages daily training operations at an assigned CK synthetic training site maintaining equipment and supporting basic maintenance, troubleshooting, and demonstrations of system capabilities. The position collaborates with clients to adapt scenarios, contributes to curriculum improvements, and ensures safe, effective training delivery that aligns with NECC standards and CK training methodology.

2. Organization / Duty Station
· Position Assignment: Department of the Navy, Little Creek, Virginia with primary emphasis on NECC small-arms and crew severed training initiatives; work performed on designated Navy installations and other DoN sites.
· Headquartered at: 1893 Preston White Drive, Reston, VA 20191.
· Primary work occurs on‑site at U.S. military installations and other designated training venues. Temporary duty travel (TDY) may be required.
3. Supervisory Controls
· The Site Technician works under the general supervision of the Program Manager (and designated Site Lead/Integrator/Project Manager). The supervisor provides overall guidance, priorities, and policy direction. Work is reviewed for compliance with contract requirements, training quality, safety, and client satisfaction. The employee exercises initiative and independent judgment in planning and conducting daily training operations within established policies and SOPs.
4. Major Duties and Responsibilities
· Maintain synthetic marksmanship training system for small arms and crew served weapons.
· Collaborate with clients to identify and communicate needs for proprietary scenario modifications.
· Conduct AARs and debriefs; ensure accurate capture and management of individual training data within the system.
· Manage daily operations of the synthetic training site, including schedule execution, classroom/lab readiness, and site cleanliness.
· Manage equipment readiness, basic maintenance, and repairs of CK systems, synthetic weapons, compressed‑air magazines, and ancillary support equipment.
· Perform system capability and limitations demonstrations for stakeholders.
· Provide application training/assistance and technical support to end users and clients as required.
· Ensure timely delivery of contract specific requirements
· Prepare and deliver weekly and monthly training reports to the Project Manager and other stakeholders as directed.
· Adhere to required dress code and professional appearance standards, model safety and compliance at all times.
· Perform other duties as assigned in support of program objectives.
5. Scope and Effect
· The Site Technician is responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing CK proprietary synthetic weapons training; operating the assigned training site; and supporting basic maintenance and troubleshooting to sustain availability. Effective performance ensures training throughput, data integrity, and student safety; sustains system availability; and strengthens client relationships. The role influences curriculum evolution, supports program metrics, and contributes to CK’s reputation for innovation and training effectiveness.
6. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· U.S. citizenship and valid U.S. passport
· Navy Small Arms Marksmanship Instructor (SAMI) qualified or DoD/U.S. Government equivalent.
· DoD Combat Arms background; Honorable discharge.
· Eligibility to obtain and maintain access to DoD installations.
· Within twelve months: complete CK Personal Qualification Standards and achieve CK Trainer Qualified, CK Green Team Graduate, and CK Armorer Qualified status.
· Ability to work independently, prioritize, and multi‑task in fast‑paced training environments.
· Strong instructional presence and the ability to communicate complex concepts to non‑technical end users.
· Superior organization, problem‑solving, documentation, and interpersonal/communication skills (written and oral).
· Experience with desktop operating systems and Microsoft Office products.
· Basic mechanical aptitude; proficient with common hand tools.
· Foundational understanding of human performance principles and concepts.
7. Training & Certification Pathway (post-hire)
· Required to attend CK training within twelve (12) months of hire. Individual remains in 1099 status until the CK training and certification pathway is successfully completed. Target milestones include, within six (6) months, completion of CK Personal Qualification Standards (PQS) and attainment of CK Trainer Qualified, CK Armorer Qualified, and CK Green Team Graduate; additional platform-specific qualifications as assigned.
8. Preferred Qualifications
· Armorer experience (DoD or civilian).
· Formal physical fitness training background.
· Solid knowledge of computer hardware; familiarity with networking and cross‑platform concepts.
9. Supervisory Relationships
· Reports directly to the Project Manager (PM). Day‑to‑day tasking may be coordinated with the Site Lead, Integrator (if assigned) and Project Management. The PM provides priorities and assumes risk acceptance for assigned actions in accordance with program policies and SOPs.
10. Physical Requirements
· Capable of standing/instructing for 6–10 hours per day.
· May require climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, walking, pushing/pulling, lifting, and repetitive motions.
· Close visual acuity for data entry/review, equipment inspection, and operation of training systems.
· Ability to lift/move objects up to 50 lbs. Reasonable accommodation may be made for qualified individuals with disabilities.
11. Work Environment and Travel
· Work occurs primarily at indoor training facilities with periodic exposure to outdoor conditions, noise, vibration, moving mechanical parts, dust, or heights. PPE may be required.
· Classroom/lab conditions are comparable to a typical office setting during instruction blocks; prolonged standing and movement are common while training is in session.
· Some CONUS/OCONUS travel may be required based on program needs.
12. Hours of Duty / Work Schedule
· Training days typically fall between 0700–1900 based on the training schedule, with a typical 8‑hour workday. Evening/weekend work may occur to meet mission requirements.
13. Pay Grade or Occupational Series
· Pay Grade/Range: TBD (commensurate with experience and contract/location).
· Occupational Series: Training/Operations.
Final classification and compensation to be assigned by Human Resources in alignment with organizational standards and industry benchmarks.
14. Employment Classification & Probationary Period
· This position is offered as a 1099 independent contractor role for no less than ninety (90) days. At approximately the 90‑day mark, the contractor’s performance will be evaluated and one of the following actions may occur: (a) extension of the independent‑contractor period or (b) termination/non‑renewal of the contract at the company’s discretion. Notwithstanding the 90‑day review, 1099 status will continue until the CK training and certification pathway is successfully completed as outlined above.
15. Security Clearance Level
· No security clearance is required. Must pass background screening per contract/policy and maintain eligibility to work on federal government contracts. Must obtain and maintain DBIDS/base access as required by installation policy.
