Full Job Description

Beach Eye Care, a well-established, growing Optometry & Ophthalmology practice in Coastal Virginia, is seeking a motivated Optometric Technician to join our Contact Lens team.

This modern and progressive full-scope multi-specialty practice offers the latest in technology, compassion, and professional medical care, including aesthetics and plastic surgery. Our Contact Lens Department offers full range of products while displaying compassionate care and expertise.

Interested candidates should be willing to learn, exhibit excellent customer service abilities, and have some sales experience, in addition to attention to detail. The ideal candidate is eager to learn and develop specialized skills and is comfortable supporting comprehensive patient care workflow.

Contact lens products and patient services are held at all 5 convenient locations within Virginia Beach and Chesapeake. Our team is consistently voted Best Place for Eye Care on an annual basis by the Coastal Virginia community.

Beach Eye Care offers competitive salaries, commission potential, and a generous benefits package with paid certifications potential. We offer a rotating Saturday schedule, with 1 every 4-6 weeks.

Some experience is a requirement. Our pay is very competitive, and the salary is determined by years of experience and certification.

Requirements:

Demonstrates courtesy, compassion, and respect to others in adherence to the Beach Eye Care philosophy and policy for promoting a positive work and customer environment alongside your fellow co-workers.
Exhibits professional customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers.
Handle PHI in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Answer and troubleshoot emails, phone calls, and text messages regarding contact lens inquiries.
Sales of annual supplies, reaching set goals, explaining rebates.
Presents self positively and professionally as reflected by personal attire and etiquette.
Attends required meetings, training and in-services
Reviews patient's charts for confirmation of physician's orders and follows written or/and verbal protocols and instructions.
Fitting Contacts: select appropriate contact lens based on visual needs, current refraction, keratometry readings and lifestyle
Orders and dispenses contact lenses, documenting the
Keep contact lenses, supplies, and solutions stocked and storage rooms neat and orderly.
Perform other duties as needed

Hourly/Salary Rate: Competitive rates based on experience, plus individual monthly commissions.

Qualifications:

Education- High school diploma (required)

Experience- One year of customer service/sales experience (preferred)

Medical experience or eye care experience is a bonus!
