Day to Day Job Duties
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Serve as site supervisor in absence of full-time staff for facilities, part time staff and volunteers.
Managing and maintaining grounds, structures and park amenities including but not limited to Stumpy Lake Natural Area, Pleasure House Point Natural Area, Marshview Park, West Neck Creek Natural Area and Lake Smith/Lake Lawson Natural Area.
Lead volunteer-based programs including trail maintenance, targeted cleanups & beautification projects.
Assist with data entry to include maintaining statistics for monthly/annual reports, type memos, operating office equipment such as computer, scanner, adding and copy machines
Providing customer service and enforcing rules and regulations.
Provide routing maintenance and construction of park areas, amenities and equipment.
Providing landscape maintenance to trails and greenways.
Keeping records/reports, complete incident reports and losses.
Individual will work in an outdoor environment in various weather conditions.
Report incidents/accident and discrepancies.
Perform housekeeping/custodial duties such as cleaning and maintaining all parts of the public restrooms and empty all large park trash cans and dog waste stations.
Perform other job duties requiring skills, knowledge and physical requirements as demanded by those duties described or less. Individual assignments will be determined by the supervisor based on the current workloads and department needs.
Requires a current and valid Driver’s license

Schedule
Primarily this position works shifts during the week, between Monday – Friday 7-3:30 p.m. But schedules could include early mornings, evening, weekend and holidays for special project coverage.
Hours - Average scheduled hours up to 27 hours per week.
The individual selected for this position will be housed at a primary site but may be scheduled between other park sites/facilities. Schedules will be adjusted seasonally and will vary weekly based on events, facility coverage, and weather. All employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours, overtime, splits shifts or maybe be relocated to another location or job assignment in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies including weekends, evenings and holidays.
Alpha I
The position you are applying for is designated as Alpha I, requiring the selected candidate to work, regardless of the City’s operational status. All employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies.
As a condition of employment, all employees must attend P&R Connection (Department Orientation). If selected for the position, you will be provided an approximate training date at the time of hire. Training is held from 8:30am-5:00pm, every other Friday, at the Parks & Recreation Administration Building. When an exemption is permittable, a hybrid version of the training is available, but will require training attendance on a weekend.

Minimum Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED, or must possess certification in a related field, and three (3) months of related experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Some locations may require a current and valid driver’s license. Special Requirements: May require operation of a motor vehicle to carry out assigned duties. Program staff may transport patrons. Schedules may vary to include work early mornings, days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime when required to meet operational needs. Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies. Individual location assignments will be determined by current department needs.
