Full Job Description

Build the Future of Finance with Rex Nordic

We're looking for an Assistant Controller to join our growing North American team. This is a newly created position, offering a unique opportunity to shape and develop finance operations as our business continues to expand across the USA and Canada.

As this is a new role, we've outlined the key areas of responsibility based on our current business needs. The role will continue to evolve, giving you the opportunity to influence processes, take ownership, and help define how finance supports our North American operations.

Working closely with the North America CEO and Group CFO, you'll collaborate with colleagues across Finance, Sales, Customer Service and HR, while acting as a key contact for external partners including CPA firms, payroll providers and tax advisors.

Location

This is primarily a remote position. To support close collaboration with our North America CEO and business operations, we are seeking candidates located in North Carolina or Virginia, preferably within or near Raleigh, Durham, Greenville, Newport News, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, or Williamsburg. Candidates should be able to work within the Eastern Time Zone and be available for occasional in-person meetings and business travel as needed.

What You'll Be Doing?

Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting day-to-day finance operations across the USA and Canada.
Coordinating payroll administration with external payroll providers (ADP).
Monitoring accounts receivable, customer credit and supporting collection activities.
Preparing management reports, financial analyses and ad hoc reporting.
Assisting with budgeting, forecasting and month-end and year-end closing activities.
Supporting continuous development of finance processes, reporting and Odoo ERP.
Helping ensure compliance with internal controls, Group Finance policies and local accounting requirements.
Acting as a finance contact for external CPA partners, tax advisors, banks and auditors.
Identifying opportunities to improve processes, reporting quality and operational efficiency.

What We're Looking For?

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
Approximately 3 to 5 years of experience in accounting, finance operations, controlling or financial reporting.
Experience working with ERP systems and good skills to learn a new one.
Experience with payroll providers such as ADP is considered an asset.
Understanding of US and/or Canadian accounting practices.
Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.
Excellent communication skills in English.
