We are seeking a dependable and mechanically inclined Dairy Field Service Technician to join our growing team. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and maintaining dairy equipment and electrical systems at customer dairy facilities. The ideal candidate has strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills, enjoys working independently in the field, and is committed to providing outstanding customer service to dairy producers.
As the face of our company, you will work directly with dairy owners, managers, and support staff to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently while minimizing downtime.
Pay* $18.00-$25.00/Hr (Based On Experience)
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical issues in dairy barns and milk production facilities.
- Diagnose and repair milk barn equipment, controls, motors, pumps, and related systems.
- Install and service barn ventilation systems, including fans and fan controls.
- Install and troubleshoot barn lighting systems.
- Install, repair, and maintain cow soaking pipe systems and water distribution equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance on dairy equipment and electrical components.
- Read electrical diagrams, wiring schematics, and technical manuals.
- Ensure all work complies with electrical codes and company safety standards.
- Communicate professionally with dairy owners, managers, and dairy support personnel regarding service needs, repairs, and recommendations.
- Maintain accurate service reports and document completed work.
- Safely operate and maintain a company service truck.
- Properly manage company-issued tools, equipment, fuel card, and materials.
- Participate in on-call or emergency service rotations as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
Qualifications
Required
- Experience in electrical troubleshooting and repair.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose equipment failures.
- Experience using hand and power tools.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in agricultural environments.
- Comfortable working around livestock and in varying weather conditions.
Preferred
- Previous experience working on dairy farms or in dairy service.
- Experience with milk barn equipment, pumps, motors, VFDs, or electrical controls.
- Knowledge of dairy ventilation systems, lighting systems, and cow soaking systems.
- Electrical certification or vocational training is a plus.
- Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics.

Work Environment
