Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Certified Group Fitness Instructor to lead engaging, motivating, and safe fitness classes for diverse groups of participants. In this role, you will design and deliver high-energy workouts that inspire individuals to achieve their health and fitness goals. Your expertise will help foster a positive environment that encourages participation, personal growth, and community connection. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to share your passion for fitness while making a meaningful impact on members’ well-being.

Responsibilities

Lead group fitness classes across various formats such as cardio, strength, yoga, Pilates, cycling, CrossFit, and dance-based sessions with enthusiasm and professionalism.
Demonstrate proper exercise techniques, ensuring participants perform movements safely and effectively by providing clear instructions and hands-on guidance when needed.
Develop innovative class programs that cater to different skill levels and fitness objectives, incorporating elements of biomechanics, physiology, anatomy knowledge, and body mechanics.
Monitor participant safety during classes by recognizing signs of fatigue or injury; respond promptly with appropriate modifications or first aid procedures.
Maintain a motivating environment by coaching participants through their workouts, offering encouragement, feedback, and modifications to maximize results.
Stay current with industry trends and certifications such as CPR/AED operation, First Aid, and specialized training in areas like sports coaching or heavy lifting to ensure best practices are followed.
Promote upcoming classes and fitness programs to encourage member participation and retention while supporting the health club’s sales initiatives.

Qualifications

Certification as a Group Fitness Instructor from a recognized organization; additional certifications in Kickboxing, Yoga, Pilates, CrossFit, or Sports Coaching are highly desirable.
Proven experience leading group fitness classes in a health club or gym environment with strong demonstration and teaching skills.
Solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, body mechanics, manual handling techniques, and program design principles.
Knowledge of CPR/AED certification and First Aid procedures to ensure participant safety at all times.
Ability to motivate diverse groups through coaching techniques that foster confidence and enjoyment in exercise routines.
Experience with gym equipment operation including cycling bikes or heavy lifting equipment is preferred.
Excellent communication skills with a passion for helping others achieve their fitness goals through engaging instruction and personalized coaching.
