Assist the Head Baseball Coach in the instruction, development, and performance of student-athletes, with primary responsibility for offensive and hitting development. Coordinate recruiting efforts by identifying, evaluating, and recruiting prospective student-athletes while ensuring compliance with NJCAA, conference, and institutional regulations. Support the daily operations of the baseball program, including practice and game preparation, player development, academic monitoring, travel coordination, and related program activities. This position receives general supervision from the Head Baseball Coach and exercises no supervision.
NOTE: This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.
SELECTION CRITERIA:

Baseball field maintenance, equipment management, and game operations; 5. Budgeting principles and resource management within an athletic program; Skills in: 6. Developing and implementing training programs that promote athletic, academic, and personal growth of student-athletes; 7. Evaluating player performance and potential through observation, data analysis, and scouting techniques; 8. Recruiting, building relationships with prospective student-athletes, families, coaches, and community partners; 9. Organizing, coordinating, and prioritizing multiple projects, events, and recruiting activities; 10. Leadership, mentorship, and fostering a positive team culture; 11. Oral and written communication with diverse audiences; 12. Utilizing technology, recruiting databases, video analysis tools, and Microsoft Office applications; Ability to: 13. Instruct and demonstrate baseball techniques, including throwing, batting practice, and defensive drills; 14. Assist with strength and conditioning programs that support student-athlete development; 15. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, employees, coaches, and community stakeholders; 16. Travel extensively and recruit student-athletes on a regional and national level; 17. Monitor and support student-athlete academic progress and promote academic success; 18. Exercise sound judgment, maintain professionalism, and represent the College positively on and off the field; 19. Provide caring, high-quality service by creating welcoming experiences, communicating clearly and proactively, addressing needs with professionalism and empathy, and ensuring individuals are thoughtfully connected to appropriate resources.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Restricted: Sustained posture or intense attentiveness for prolonged periods. Light lifting (less than 30 lbs.), some walking, pushing, and pulling on a regular basis. Unpleasant Exposure Minor Hazard: Moderate exposure to dust, grease, noise, inclement weather, temperature extremes, and unpleasant but not hazardous odors. Occasional exposure to risk controlled by safety precautions. Frequency or severity are limited.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Experience: 3-5 years’ college or professional coaching experience and/or playing experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university
