Traveling Superintendent (Restaurant Construction)Position Summary

Position Summary
The Field Superintendent provides on-site coordination for all phases of commercial construction projects, including supervising employees, coordinating subcontractors, managing materials and equipment, ensuring project specifications are followed, maintaining schedules, controlling costs, and enforcing job site safety.
The Field Superintendent is responsible for scheduling, inspections, quality control, and maintaining a safe, productive work environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with the Project Manager, customers, restaurant management, and project crews throughout the project.
- Supervise Ameritech employees, including Lead Technicians, Technicians, and Helpers, as assigned.
- Coordinate subcontractors and ensure all work is completed according to the project scope, schedule, and quality standards.
- Meet with customers and store personnel to review project progress and address concerns.
- Identify conditions outside the project scope and communicate recommendations to the Project Manager and customer.
- Understand and follow all project-specific job site requirements and customer protocols.
- Submit accurate daily and weekly project reports to the Project Manager.
- Ensure materials, equipment, and subcontractors are available to maintain project schedules.
- Schedule crews to meet customer deadlines while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Monitor workmanship and ensure all work meets company quality expectations.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with customers, employees, suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Foster a professional, respectful, and productive work environment while resolving conflicts appropriately.
- Evaluate crew performance and provide feedback to the Project Manager.
- Maintain professionalism, sound judgment, and composure in fast-paced and changing environments.
- Represent the company professionally at all times.
Preferred Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Superintendent on restaurant construction projects.
- Recent experience managing open restaurant remodels is strongly preferred.
- Experience with restaurant tenant improvement (TI) construction.
- Ground-up construction experience is beneficial but not required.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of commercial building codes and health department requirements.
- Strong understanding of all phases of commercial construction.

Travel & Schedule Requirements
- Ability to travel extensively (up to 100%) based on project assignments.
- Typical travel rotations may include approximately three weeks on the road followed by one week at home, depending on project needs.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including days, nights, weekends, and occasional schedule changes based on project requirements.
Additional Responsibilities
- Ensure both the Superintendent and project crews obtain adequate rest to perform work safely.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.
- Identify and immediately address safety hazards.
- Assist with purchasing project materials as needed.
- Perform site surveys and assist with estimating when required.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of commercial general contracting.
- Working knowledge of all major construction trades.
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.

Minimum Qualifications
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years of commercial construction experience.
- Employment is contingent upon successfully completing a pre-employment background check and drug screen, where permitted by applicable law.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record.
- Must have reliable transportation to travel to customer locations.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to travel extensively (up to 100%).
