As a Patient Financial Advocate, you will have the privilege of guiding patients through the self-pay accounts receivable resolution, while ensuring the financial integrity of Astera Health.
This position is full-time: 80 hours per pay period, Monday - Friday with hours primarily between 8:30a - 5:00p. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Interviews patients to arrange methods of payment or to determine eligibility for Uncompensated Care program and other financial assistance programs

Acts as a liaison between patient financial services and clinic operations to resolve customer inquiries specifically related to billing and customer satisfaction

Communicates with those individuals/departments for problem resolution and documentation

Courteously assists walk-in customers from clinical areas and the cashier office

Participates in special projects ad effectively cross-covers in areas as requested by the supervisor
- Follows appropriate channels to implement new ideas

Assists patients with billing and payment questions

Evaluates individual’s ability to pay using information obtained from the patient, credit files, or hospital account records.
- Consults patients prior to procedures to discuss estimated procedure pricing

Assists in collection of pre-payments and previous and current balances due.

Education and experience required:

Associates degree in related field

Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential responsibilities and duties of the job as listed above.
