Astera Health is hiring for a Patient Care Technician that will work directly with licensed professionals in the clinic setting to provide assistance and support in daily operational activities. Astera Health welcomes applications from both certified and non-certified professionals.
This position is scheduled for 80 hours per biweekly pay period, Monday - Friday with the occasional travel to the satellite locations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Rooming patients and obtaining data to include: height, weight, blood pressure, visual acuity, and reception/clerical tasks.

Reception/Clerical tasks which include: coordination of patient referrals, assisting patient to schedule appointments, take messages, restocking supplies and exam rooms.

Assist with transferring of patients within the building

Compete accurate documentation in patient charts

Turnover exam rooms between patients

Part of the clinical team and works under the direction of licensed staff
Direct Patient Care Tasks:

Rooming patients and reviewing medication list by history, reviewing allergy lists

Completes vital signs (Blood Pressure / Height / Weight / Pulse / O2 / Temperature / Pain assessment based on Wong-Baker pain scale)

Chaperone exams
-
Transportation of specimens to laboratory

Room set up and take down
-
Previsit planning
-
Restocking exam rooms

Assist with ambulation / transfer patients within building

Assist with paperwork – FMLA / PA’s

Assist with data collection and standard quality of care

Other duties as directed by licensed staff

Physical Requirements:
Medium duty is exerting 20-50 pounds of force occasionally or 10-15 pounds of force frequently or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects (based on US Department of Labor data). The following physical activities are required to perform his job.
Occasionally (up to 33% of work time): standing, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, kneeling, crouching, smelling. Color vision.
Frequently (34-66% of work time): walking, carrying, stooping, reaching, handling, fingering, talking, hearing, near acuity vision.
